Festivities shift into gear at Hillcrest Hospital

Occupational Therapy patients at the Hillcrest Government Hospital celebrated Christmas a few days early with two Highway clubs.

CHRISTMAS arrived early for 54 patients at the Hillcrest Government Hospital as the 31 Club and the MG Car Club of KZN combined their resources for a morning of festive fun.

The 31 Club donated a much-needed deep freeze and pots to the occupational therapy department as often food items are given and cannot be used on the same day.

The pots are necessary for cooking lessons and rehabilitation of patients before they return their homes. Scarves, bags and clothing were also given.

The MG Car Club of KZN donated much-needed toiletries, sweets and other pamper items.

Oxford Hillcrest supplied borewors rolls and Cooper Tyres donated caps for the male patients. Father Christmas arrived at the party to distribute the bags of goodies to the excited recipients.

Two resident teenagers at the Hillcrest Hospital will be leaving at the end of this year as they will be full-time learners at the Open Air School in Durban in 2019.

The 31 Club generously donated two iPads and two hard drives to the absolutely delighted teenagers.
