Pinetown police arrest man for ex-girlfriend’s murder 

In a separate incident, a man handed himself over to the police for stabbing his stepmother to death.

A 30-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend on Saturday, 3 November.

It is alleged that on the same day at about 4.55pm, the victim (48) and her friends were drinking alcohol at KwaBhontshisi area near Wyebank when the suspect came and demanded to speak with the her.

“It is alleged that the victim refused to speak with the suspect and he pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim on the neck.”

“The victim was rushed to the clinic where she died,” said Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele. The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

In a separate incident, a man handed himself over to the police on Friday, 2 November following the murder of his step mother at KwaNyavu area in Umsunduzi.

“It is alleged that on the same day at about 11am, the suspect and his step mother had an argument over house chores. It is alleged that the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed his step mother in the head, chest and on the body. The victim died on scene,” said Manqele.

The suspect was charged for murder and appeared in the Camperdown Magistrate’s Court.
