“Four suspects, two of them armed with firearms, jumped out of the vehicle. One of the suspects fired a shot that shattered the window on the driver’s side of the vehicle, fortunately missing the driver. The suspects then opened the door and demanded that she climb out of her vehicle,” said Mathios.

The robbers fled the scene in her vehicle that contained two handbags containing a large sum of cash, a cellphone and keys. The abandoned vehicle was recovered in Clermont.

Mathios advised business owners and managers to be vigilant when arriving and leaving their business premises with large sums of cash and to vary the route travelled to make it difficult to be targeted by criminals.
