24 injured in Dinkleman Highway taxi accident on school run

Accidents in Pinetown saw many children injured on their school commute. Rescuers and paramedics worked in the rain to rescue two dozen injured from one three-vehicle accident.

ON TUESDAY morning a serious accident involving three vehicles including a taxi transporting school-children took place on the Dinkelman Highway in New Germany before Claremont.

According to paramedics on the scene, 23 children on their way to school were injured in the accident.

In total 24 people were injured and had to be stabilised by paramedics on the scene before they could be transported to hospitals by a variety of ambulances called to the scene to assist.

“The roadway is severely obstructed and I advise motorists to avoid this area at all costs,” said the RescueCare spokesman, Garrith Jamieson.
