What’s on at Queensburgh Methodist Church

To support all these activities, the church needs to run fund-raising initiatives such as the Second Time Around Sale and Spring Clearance Sale, the latter is on Saturday, 29 September.

QUEENSBURGH Methodist Church celebrated 114 years of Methodist witness this year with a “Bring and braai” on 23 September when it also commemorated Heritage Day.

The Church not only provides a place of worship to its congregants and Sunday school for the children but also hosts an Alpha Course; two Women’s Auxiliary (WA) groups; and a number of fellowship groups.

Two Cantatas, one at Easter and one at Christmas are performed by a combined choir, made up of interdenominational congregants from various other churches in the community.
Another task the church takes on is the support of various charity organisations and special homes within the Queensburgh area.
To support all these activities, the church needs to run fund-raising initiatives such as the Second Time Around Sale and Spring Clearance Sale, the latter is on Saturday, 29 September.
“This year the sale displays an impressive array of new and second-hand goods ranging from baby clothes to furniture. Clothing for all ages, glassware and ornaments from days gone by. Toys for children, porcelain dolls, electric and remote toys for children, baskets and dishes and more,” said church member, Gregory Schutte.
“Handymen would be interested in some furniture items for restoration or spares from old sewing machines, all going at extremely low prices.”
The church also runs Hughie’s Café, established last year as a Christian coffee shop, giving congregants, friends and strangers a place to gather and chat.
To find out more, contact Schutte on 084 681 6565, or attend the sale at 134 Vausedale Road, Northdene, Queensburgh, on Saturday, 29 September from 8 am to noon.
