Westville resident raises funds for CANSA

The 2018 Cuppa For CANSA season opened from June and will run till Wednesday, 31 October 2018. By hosting or attending a Cuppa event, the public will be able to give hope to those affected by cancer, by raising funds towards CANSA’s care and support programmes for cancer survivors.

WESTVILLE resident, Althea Erfort hosted a fund-raiser for Cuppa for CANSA at her home to honour people who have passed away due to cancer.

This fund-raiser is very close to Erfort’s heart as she lost her mom and a close friend to cancer.

“This is also aimed at everyone who is suffering from this illness and a friend of mine who is currently undergoing treatment for throat cancer.

Each year, Erfort invites friends and encourages them to bring a friend or two along as well. “We come together for a good cause while socialising and sharing,” she said.

“I get support from local businesses, it is also a chance to showcase what can be done not necessarily on a big scale or at corporate level, but just intimately in your home with some friends. We can all make a difference, no matter how small, and hopefully encourage others to do the same.”

Robyn Briggs of CANSA also attended the event to represent the association.
