Join journey down yellow brick road

Calling all actors, singers and musicians - don't miss out on the auditions for the Westville Theatre Club's latest show, Wizard of Odd!

AUDITIONS for the Westville Theatre Club’s next pantomime, The Wizard of Odd, will be held at the clubhouse at 6 St James Avenue on Monday, 17 September from 6pm and on Sunday, 23 September from 2pm.

The Wizard of Odd will be directed by Danielle Fleuriot. She received her BA in theatre and education in the US, where she harnessed her passion for directing. She has since directed David Ives’ One Acts Sure Thing and Time Flies as well as two locally written full-length plays, Prompt and An Evening of Signs.

Shawn O’Neill, an experienced musician and luthier of O’Neill Custom Guitars, will be heading up the musical direction.

The show is in need of actors, singers and musicians (14 years and older) to make up the large cast.

Singers must prepare a song and bring their backing track. Musicians must prepare a piece of music and actors are encouraged to prepare a one-minute monologue. Cold readings will be available.

“Follow us down the yellow brick road in this hilarious spin on The Wizard of Oz. Be a part of the family pantomime which is sure to make your belly hurt from laughing so hard,” said Danielle.

A briefing of the play will be given before the audition process begins. To work on the lighting, sound, backstage and set design aspects of the show, contact the directors.

Call backs are on Monday, 24 September from 6pm.

The pantomime will be staged at the Club from the 6 to 9 December and again from 12 to 15 December. Contact Dee on 074 640 7060 or vie e-mail at westvilletheatre@gmail.com.
