STAR College has selected Lara as its SPAR Star of the Month.

STAR College has selected Lara as its SPAR Star of the Month.

Selected learners from Grades 5 to 7 participated in the Eskom Young Scientist Expo.

One of the learners from Grade 5, Lara Reddy, won The Best Project in Quintile 4 and 5 Primary School, a cash prize of R1 000, a gold medal and was honoured for being one of the Top 7 female participants as well as attaining the highest score in her category.

Lara was also the youngest participant.

PA to principal, Sara Hayden, said Lara’s project was based on ‘How our social habits affect our eating habits’.

“The aim of her project was to determine whether the behaviour of individuals in groups affect where and how others eat. We are indeed proud of Lara’s efforts, more so, since being a Grade 5 learner, this was the first time that she has participated in a competition of this nature,” said Hayden.
