“We have gradings that we follow and their owners win prizes for the best looking fish,” said the group’s founder, Cameron Wyness.

“We held the first competition in South Africa at the Something Exotics pet store in Hillcrest recently and we hope to grow the hobby of fish-keeping in the country.”

Wyness noted the aim of the group is to help teach enthusiasts better ways to care for their fish and things to look out for when purchasing a Siamese fighter fish. “It is a growing hobby that we are very excited about,” said Wyness.

Highway residents are encouraged to enter their fish in future competitions. Like and follow the group on Facebook at Betta Addiction SA.
