Bookings open for cat sterilisation

If you are looking after stray cats and would like to have them sterilised, book your place in the Cats of Durban sterilisation project.

CATS of Durban, the volunteer-based feral and stray sterilisation agency, will host a public clinic for the sterilisation of stray and feral cats in Merebank on Sunday, 29 July at the Merebank Veterinary Clinic.

“Anyone looking after a stray cat, who wishes to have the cat neutered or spayed at a massively reduced cost, is welcome to apply to be included,” said the organisation’s deputy chairman Candice Zandberg.

The cost is R350 per cat, payable on arrival. This includes sterilisation and a rabies injection.

All cats must be admitted in a proper carrier or cat trap. The cat’s ear will be clipped to designate it as a stray.

Contact Candice on 083 282 5529 to book a place at the sterilisation clinic. If the clinic is fully booked, sterilisations will be carried over to the next spay clinic.
