Truck crashes into GO!Durban station

At this stage it is unclear  how much it will cost to fix the damage.

OPENING of the Go!Durban first route has again come to a grinding halt after a truck crashed into the New Germany completed station on Monday.

Programme Manager of Strategic Architecture Projects, Nic Combrink, who was inspecting the damage, said he cannot say how much it will cost to fix the damage.

“We heard that the truck was swerving away from a taxi and crashed into the station, fortunately the driver of the truck was not injured,” he said.

After reports that the buses will start operating last month, work was put on hold for months after alleged threats from taxi owners.

According to Head of eThekwini Transport Authority, Thami Manyathi, work resumed on this contract on Monday, 9 July.

“Ongoing engagements with relevant stakeholders will continue to held.”
