Pedestrian dies in Hillcrest accident

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries.

A MAN believed to be in his 30s was killed when he was knocked by a car on the M13 at the Shongweni off-ramp in Hillcrest this morning.

ER24 spokesperson, Ineke van Huyssteen said paramedics found the pedestrian lying on the road. A vehicle was found off the road on an embankment shortly after 8am.

“The pedestrian was unfortunately declared dead on scene by paramedics. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries,” said van Huyssteen.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not known as yet but police will be investigating further.
