Arthritis in children?

A workshop will be held during the school holiday about arthritis in children in association with the KZN branch of the Arthritis Association of South Africa.

While many think arthritis is an ailment affecting only the elderly, the truth is that even babies can suffer from arthritis.

Many times painful conditions go undetected, treated and so are left unmanaged due to people overlooking that arthritis might be what is making a child feel unexplained pain.

Learn how to pick up the early symptoms, how to get the correct diagnosis from medical practitioners, what the treatment options are, how to manage arthritis to make life easier for your child and what support you can give as a parent.

The Arthritis Foundation of South Africa (KZN Branch) NPO N0. 002-847 will be addressing all of the above at a talk to be given by Trevor Falkson, KZN branch manager and Julie Perks, a Specialist Dietician.

It takes place at the Musgrave Library, Glenwood Village Centre, on Monday, 9 July 2018 from 10am.

All welcome especially parents of arthritis patients and those wanting to learn more about arthritis.

Entrance is free, but donations to the association will be gratefully accepted.

Light refreshments will be served afterwards with time for more one on one discussion.
