Show your support to the Cheshire Home by attending annual winter fete

Cheshire Home winter fete is a great time for people to enjoy a variety of stalls and items to buy. The fun starts at 8.30am on Saturday, 30 June, 2018.

Few things make the residents of Queensburgh’s Cheshire home happier than the support of the community shown it at their annual fete.

Each winter the home holds a fete is a fun-filled day filled with many stalls where people can find hidden treasures they simply aren’t able to find anywhere else.

As Brian Rossenrode, the home’s manager explains, there is something for everyone. Brian said each year a major draw-card is the ever-popular “White Elephant” and “Bygones” stalls where people will be able to find “collectables, a large selection of books, records, puzzles, sewing, plants, second-hand and new clothing.”

“This promises to be a fun-filled day. For the children we have various games and a jumping castle,” explained Rossenrode who has been organising the event for three decades.

“We also have a beer garden and a tea garden to satisfy your thirst,” said Brian who explained that his year would be his 30th year organising the event which he started out volunteering at and has now become the manager of. In addition to the usual live music to entertain the crowds, there also is the added attraction this year of a strongman to wow the audience with feats of strength.

After browsing the stalls and enjoying the live music and other entertainment, you can also enjoy offerings from the various food stalls.

“We also always are appreciative of anyone who wishes to donate anything that could be sold, or used to make the fete more exciting, ” said Rossenrode who suggests anyone wanting to contribute contact either himself or Lyn on 031 7084747 during office hours.

Your car will be safe during the day as the organisers are also putting car guards on duty throughout the day. The fun starts at 8.30am on Saturday, 30 June, 2018.
