Mother (37) and daughter (1) die in Shallcross roof collapse
It is believed the two victims were the only people in the house at the time.
EMERGENCY services rushed to a call out when they were informed that two occupants were still inside a Shallcross house after the roof collapsed in the early hours of this morning.

Robert McKenzie, lecturer and media liaison officer at the Department of Health in KZN said the paramedics from the KZN Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services were part of the emergency teams that responded.
“We found that a woman aged 37 years old and her one-year-old daughter suffered fatal injuries during the roof collapse. It is believed the two victims were the only people in the house at the time,” said McKenzie.
He added that as EMS, they send their most sincere condolences to the family and friends of the victims.
The police, who were also at the scene, are investigating.
