VIDEO: Westville artist reveals his passion for music

Ntuthuko 'Tuko' Madondo has released a video titled Revelation1.

AFTER taking a break from his music career, which is more than a hobbie, Ntuthuko ‘Tuko’ Madondo returned to the industry by storm and recently released a music video.

The single titled Revelation1 is off his upcoming EP (short album) Rare Art Pieces which will feature the likes of Sketchy Bongo, Aewon Wolf, Markus Els (Toya Da Lazy/Tresor), Muzi, Charlie (WTF) and many more and is scheduled for release early next month.

Tuko is a rapper, songwriter, MC, style designer and entrepreneur and the songs in his album speaks about his life experiences.

Mashing harsh elements and contrasts to try and find a perfect balance within the chaos is how Tuko describes his music.

From Trap to Afro Beat to influences of classic, the objective of his music is to create something refreshingly international yet still African.

He said his love for music developed at a young age while he was still in high school.

“I met up with Sketch Bongo who is now a SAMA winning producer and other artists when we were still in high school. He had a studio in his backroom at that time and we were just doing it for fun.

“When we grew older we took it seriously but when I went to university I studied marketing and did a short business course as my parents were worried that I would not be able to make a living with just music.

The 30-year-old said he has been focusing on his construction business. He feels this is the time and he is in the right space to pursue his music career and take it to the next level.

To Tuko, music is not just a hobby but he views it as a platform to express his views freely.

“I view things differently from other people and music gives me a chance to share my feelings and opinions,” he said.
