Get your game on!

Play some iconic FPS games and a few new ones at the fund-raiser LAN event at Augusta this Friday evening.

MAKE sure your gaming rigs are ready for the first all-night LAN fund-raiser, hosted by KLF Computing, at the Augusta Country Estate from 6pm on Friday, 1 June until 6am the following morning.

Eddy Pearce, a technician at KLF Computing in Gillitts, said the event started as a 20-man LAN a few months ago and so far, 50 people have RSVP’d for the event but there are still a few spaces available if you are wanting to get your game on.

The cost is R200 per person and includes a boerewors roll and two cold beverages (beer or cold drink).

Proceeds from the night will be donated to the Kloof Rest Home.

All you need to bring with you is your own setup, headphones, a mouse, keyboard and screen and the necessary cables.

“There will be 10 MSI gaming rigs sponsored to be used at the event for those not able to bring their own or can’t afford high-end rigs,” said Eddy.

The games to be played throughout the evening include Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 2, CS: Go, Dota and possibly, Fortnite. If this isn’t enticing enough, there will also a chance to win Redbull drinks and some fantastic gaming gear.

“We encourage gamers to bring their own meat for a braai as this is both a charitable and social event,” he said.

“It’s all about having fun and to show that you don’t need to go out drinking to have a good time. You can have a good time playing games with mates and supporting a charity.”

They will co-host the next event on Friday, 3 August. Send an e-mail to gaming@klfcomputing.co.za or call 079 833 7020 to book a spot.
