THE skeleton remains, believed to be that of missing Mariannhill couple Langelihle Mazeka (41) and Nozipho Mnguni (27), were found on Monday, 28 May in the Mpola area near the Umhlatuzana River.

Langelihle Mazeka, 41, left his home on the night of 13 December last year to accompany his girlfriend, Nozipho Mnguni, who was going to leave work late that day. She worked at a local hotel.

According to police, Langelihle would always go to meet Nozipho whenever she knocked off late at work since she had to pass the dense Umhlatuzana forest on her route home.

“On that day, it is alleged that Langelihle left their room with the light on and also left his cellphone to meet Nozipho,” said SAPS spokesperson, Lt-Col Thulani Zwane.

Although the families identified their clothes, DNA analysis will be done to identify the bodies.
