Phume kicks her way to national karate comp

Pitlochry Primary School has chosen Grade 6 learner, Phumelele Bhengu, as its May SPAR Star.

GRADE 6 learner, Phumelele Bhengu, was chosen as Pitlochry Primary School’s SPAR Star of the Month.

Phumelele, who has a green belt for karate, recently competed in the KZN JKA Karate Championships, where she came third. She will now join the KZN team who will compete in Johannesburg on 25 May.

At school, Phume is an all-rounder. Academically, she works hard and is a diligent learner. She earned a gold certificate in the Conquesta Olympiad, and a bronze certificate in the Computer Olympiad.

She is a member of both the netball and hockey teams, where she is a valuable team member, and has recently joined the Nintendo Splatoon 2 team. She is a responsible leader, and has been appointed as a “Litter Buster” monitor. She is kind, respectful and reliable. The school wishes her well for the karate competition.
