Kade serves up an ace

Kearsney College has chosen Grade 11 learner, Kade Mindry, as its SPAR Star of the Month.

KADE Mindry, who was selected for the South African U17 tennis team which will tour to the United Kingdom next month, is his school’s SPAR Star of the Month.

The Grade 11 Kearsney sportsman plays number one in Kearsney’s 1st tennis team. He is also a strong academic and uses the diverse self-development opportunities offered at Kearsney, being involved with the Market Wizzards Club to learn about the stock market and investing, as well as doing the Dale Carnegie course, aimed at sharpening skills and improving performance.

Kade and his South African U17 team players will have matches at Sutton Tennis Academy, a leading tennis academy in the UK, as well as at Millfield Academy in Somerset.

He is hoping to see some of his tennis heroes serving up aces during the team’s time at Wimbledon. They will also visit educational and cultural sites during their trip.

Earlier this year, Kade participated in two SA U18 national tennis championships. In the first tournament, which was held in Stellenbosch, he lost in the semi-finals to finish third overall; going on to win the U18 tournament held in Cape Town.

Kearsney is proud of Kade’s achievements and wishes him a great tour as he represents his country on the tennis courts of the United Kingdom.
