Shane Cox and Pierre Venter-Maher will spend 24 hours in the Watercrest Mall to raise funds for the SPCA.

HIGHWAY besties, Shane Cox and Pierre Venter-Maher, who will be participating in the Kloof and Highway SPCA Dog Box Challenge, have gone over and beyond to reach their goal of raising R10 000 bail money by spending another 24 hours in a ‘cage’.

The duo will sit in a cage at the Watercrest Mall from noon on Friday, 18 May until Saturday, 19 May noon.

They will then do another 24 hours at the Kloof and Highway SPCA from noon on Friday, 25 May until Saturday, 26 May.

For Pierre, this is a warm-up before the SPCA dog box challenge as he has never participated in it before and, of course ,to exceed the targets of R10 000.

Shane, who is doing the SPCA challenge for the third time this year, is doing it in the memory of his sister, Cherise Cox, Metro handler, who was shot while responding to a hijacking.

The two thanked the management at the Watercrest Mall for allowing them to spend 24 hours in the mall. The duo will be camped at entrance 4 of the mall.
