#LeaveALittleSparkle for NPOs this Tekkie Tax Day

You can purchase a Tekkie Tax sticker or colourful laces from any of the Main Group of SPAR stores.

PREPARE to lace up your tekkies, as Tekkie Tax is heading your way, allowing young and old alike to “Leave a Little Sparkle” this year by buying a sticker or laces and supporting more than 1 200 NGO’s.

Every year the public, and businesses are encouraged to buy their Tekkie Tax laces or stickers, and get their staff to wear their tekkies for the day.

All funds raised by the sale of the tekkie laces and stickers go to charities and non-profit organisations.

“Support our commitment and passion to assist CANSA Durban in raising much needed funds for cancer awareness and education this Tekkie Tax Day,” said the group managing director of the Main Group of SPARS, Grant Nicholls.

Kim Theron, CANSA’s community mobiliser for fund development and sustainability, said, “This year, the Main Group of SPARS were enthusiastic when I suggested using these stores as sale points.”

“Tekkie Tax is SA’s most significant fundraising campaign, owned by welfare organisations, managed by welfare organisations, for the benefit of welfare organisations.

This is a joint venture between some of the biggest and most accountable national non-profit organisations, which have all joined forces under one big fundraising campaign,” she said.

By taking part in the fund-raiser, your contribution will help create awareness, educate families and promote early detection that ensures a much better treatment outcome, Sam Chigumbura, CANSA’s KZN Divisional Manager Sustainability said.

International Tekkie Tax Day is on Friday, 25 May. Buy a sticker for just R10 or laces for R35 (a sticker is included) at the Main, Sarnia, Hillary and Escombe SPAR stores.
