Help empower youth through local skills programme

Fiducia invites all youth and young adults with Down Syndrome and Autism to join their programme. The invite is also extended to family members and the community that can assist in the roll out.

FIDUCIA, a local organisation created to empower young adults with intellectual and development challenges and to facilitate an environment to realise their potential and pursue their dreams, through innovative programmes and community integration, is looking for members.

The organisation aims to achieve all of this with programmes that focus on vocational and life skills, fitness, arts and music.

Currently the organisation is focusing on youth and young adults with Down Syndrome and Autism. The project is a sports programme for young adults with Down Syndrome and Autism.

The sporting codes offered are adapted for their participation at basic level and also for competitive level; this includes Special Olympics and Down Syndrome games based on individual ability.

A special appeal is made to people who have experience in coaching sporting codes, especially with people that are faced with intellectual challenges. The relevant sports codes are swimming, shot putt, standing long jump and 50 and 100 metre walks.

Join the planning meeting on Saturday, 12 May at West Park School at 1pm.
