Woza-Embo hosts local artist

Local artist, Gail Dahl, is exhibiting her latest pieces at the Woza-Embo gallery in Botha's Hill until the end of the month.

The Woza–Embo Gallery presents an exhibition of new works by local artist and former gallery owner, Gail Dahl.

The talented creator will exhibit some of her eclectic artworks at 237 Old Main Road in Botha’s Hill until 31 May 2018.

Gail works in a number of mediums and combines painting and collage techniques to create charming and quirky artworks which express her sense of humour. She has recently worked with sari silk which has introduced a wonderful range of vibrant colours into her creations.

She was inspired to use the beautiful silk when she was given a damaged sari which was ideal for cutting into shapes and strips which she uses to enhance her watercolour portraits of women.

Apart from the women draped in silk scarves and hats, you will find silky fish and even elephants. Of course, being known as the ‘cat lady’, Gail loves to paint the furry friends in her own inimitable way.

Also on sale are a selection of Gail’s handmade greeting cards and unframed artworks.
