PHOTOS: Carnage on N3 causes traffic delays

One person was critically injured and needed to be airlifted to hospital.

TWO trucks collided on the N3 Durban bound near the Marianhill Toll Plaza in Pinetown this morning.

One of the trucks overturned and three people were injured in the accident.

One person was critically injured and was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics and placed on a manual ventilator.

“An Aeromedical helicopter was called to the scene to assist with transporting the critically injured patient. The other two patients were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various hospitals,” said Rescue Care’s operation’s manager, Garrith Jamieson.

Traffic was severely affected as only one lane was open.
