Kloof CPF faces crime head on

The CPF urged all residents to take part in the community policing forum and attend its monthly meetings.

THE Kloof CPF members hosted an awareness campaign at the Kloof Village Mall on Saturday which was part of relaunching the community policing forum and get more people involved.

CPF chairman, Nikki Mohlmann, said the CPF provides lots of services apart from patrolling and are hoping that more people can join and assist where they can.

She said one of the services they provide is trauma counselling.

“We cannot ignore the fact that crime is on an increase and we are in need of patrollers and we are also looking at appointing street captains.”

The other project that the CPF is looking at is to try and revive the Kloof Police Station.

“We will be putting up two different set of cameras; overview cameras which will look over the whole area and SNIPR which is linked to the SAPS and can pick up number plates of suspicious vehicles in the area,” explained Mohlmann.

Residents are urged to attend the monthly meetings held every second Monday of the month at Tina’s Hotel at 6pm. Contact Nikki Mohlmann on 061 582 1903 or deputy chairman, Corne Broodryk on 083 659 4995.
