WATCH: Armed intruders terrorise QASA CEO and staff in Gillitts

The armed intruders fled with two cellphones and two wrist watches, after they clumsily triggered the security alarm which alerted security patrol guards who were nearby.

FIVE armed intruders stormed the QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) office in Gillitts and held up its CEO and two other staff members on Wednesday, 18 April at 7.30am.

Speaking about the traumatising 30-minute ordeal, CEO, Ari Seirlis, said his worst fear came to pass when he had to defend himself from the men who threatened to kill him, his care giver, house keeper and the dog.

The intruders triggered the security alarm by mistake when they pushed buttons on Ari’s bedroom wall. They panicked and fled with two cellphones, two wrist watches and an undisclosed amount of cash. They jumped over the fence into a neighbour’s property and ran towards the N3.

Seirlis thanked the community for their support. He said the G2 Neighbourhood Watch as well as the security company, National Security, was amazing.

WATCH: Ronelle Lyson, QASA project coordinator, recorded an interview with Ari Seirlis describing what had happened that morning and posted it on their QASA Facebook page.
