Elderly woman knocked over by a car in Kloof dies in hospital

The woman in her eighties was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

AN elderly woman that was flown to hospital after being knocked over by a car in Kloof on Thursday died in hospital.

The woman in her 80s was critically injured when she was transported to hospital.

Paramedics were called to the serious accident on Village Road and on arrival they found the critically injured woman in the roadway.

“She had sustained critical injuries and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise her on the scene and called in the assistance of an Aeromedical Helicopter operated by Black Eagle and IPSS Medical.

“She was placed on a manual ventilator on the scene and stabilised before being flown to a Durban,” said Garrith Jamieson from Rescue Care Paramedics.

The woman was flown to hospital in a critical condition.

Jamieson confirmed on Friday morning that she had died during the course of the night.
