Young people gathered at Pinetown Boys' on Human Right Day where they were taught to express their rights through their talents.

THE Highway Youth Forum and Pinetown Boys’ High School hosted a Youthful Human Rights event titled, I have the Right on Wednesday, 21 March.

The purpose of this event was to educate the youth about Human Rights Day and for them to express their rights through their talents.

Highway Youth Forum, brainchild of Pinetown Boys’ learner, Sitholile Sithole, is a non-profit, community service-based youth organisation under the Pinetown Rotary Club wing.

The event included emotive poetry sessions, drama and choir performances.

Sitholile said this event helped in generating funds for service projects and a portion of the profits will go towards charity.

“The future of our country lies entirely on the hands of the youth and together as the youth, we are ready and we have the right,” he said.
