ST Mary’s DSG’s SPAR Star for this Month is is Grade 11 learner, Courtney Fyvie.
The 16-year-old is currently ranked the number one tennis player in KZN for 2018. She started playing tennis when she was six years old and first made KZN in Grade 5. Her role model is Roger Federer because of his nature on the court, the way he plays the game and how he always presents himself professionally.
Courtney practices and plays tennis every day and hardly has spare time for much else when she is training. She is a member of the Hillcrest Tennis Club. Courtney is excited about going to the South African trials in April in Pretoria. Should she make the SA team, she will travel overseas to Wimbledon. One thing she looks forward to most after tennis practice is her favourite meal, macaroni and cheese, made by her mom.
