Community gets their groove on for charity

The annual Zumbathon was hosted at New Germany Lutheran to raise funds for Careways and the school.

TO give back to the community, New Germany Lutheran Pre-Primary School hosted the annual Zumbathon on Saturday, 17 March.

People attended in their numbers to sweat off a few kilos and support this fund-raising event for the school as well as for Careways, a caring organisation that reaches out to intellectually-impaired adults.

Careways runs an integrated programme under the direction of workshop manager and assistant manager, Tina Smith and Tozama Nodada.

In addition to the Kloof workshop, Careways manages a workshop every Wednesday morning on the grounds of the Methodist Church in Kwandengezi.

New Germany Lutheran principal, Trish Bentley, thanked everyone who took time out of their busy schedule to support the worthy cause.

“We are very impressed about the turn out,” she said.
