Talented Hillcrest muso to own 2018
The recording artist has a back-to-back calendar of exciting projects for 2018.
SONGSTRESS and Hillcrest resident, Shylo Pereira hit the ground running this year as she has a host of exciting projects lined up.
“It is the year for everything to happen, from incredible audition opportunities for local talent, to co-writing my own show for Durban audiences this year and later taking it national, to travelling to Florida for the Arts Talent Showcase. I am thrilled to say the least,” said the ecstatic muso.
Shylo is a local singer, actress, talent scout and coach, who has been in the entertainment industry since the age of four.
She will travel to Orlando, Florida in July to perform at the Arts Talent Showcase, scouted by international scout, Kim Meyers.
“I went up as a guest singer to perform at the Silverstar Casino last year October in Johannesburg. Elsubie Verlinden, who is the director of Just You Model and Artist Management and the regional director of the International Arts Talent Showcase, pinned a contestant number on me at the last minute. So off I go!”
Leading up to this, she has co-written a show, That’s Life, with well-known Durban-based singer and performer, Samantha Landers, which will appear at the Rhumbelow Theatres in the first half of 2018.
“Watch this space. We are beyond excited for this show and it’s going to be something special for Durban audiences,” she said.
She recently launched her heart project, The Note Book, where she covers a different song every week, telling a story of her life with each song release. This is available on all social media platforms.

Shylo also made the TOP 100 for The Face of Just You, where the winner will receive a year’s modelling contract in New York City.

She is a talent scout for the International ARTS Talent Showcase, affiliated with the international agency, Just You Model and Talent Management, as well as a private vocal and acting coach, specialising in artist development.
“Auditions for the International ARTS Talent Showcase will be held on 26 May at Kearsney College. This is an audition platform for aspiring and/or established actors, singers, models and dancers from five years old and up. Pre-registration is required and numbers are limited.”
