Lights, camera, action! Miss Ushaka rakes in motion picture BA

With her studies completed, the Pinetown resident hopes to direct a few TV shows and eventually open her own production company.

THE 21-year-old Naledi Mshengu from Pinetown, the current Miss uShaka Marine World, is breaking stereotypes by proving she is more than just a pretty face.

She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in motion picture medium from The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance.

Naledi selected this particular programme as she has, since an early age, wanted to be in the entertainment industry. This programme provides students with the opportunity to explore the film and TV school disciplines.

The possibilities for graduates include production of short films, television promotions and productions, stage productions or music performances. The course outline includes production, image production, screen design, post production, scriptwriting, production, technical and post production.

Now that she has completed her studies she would love nothing more than to go on to direct TV shows, and eventually own her own production company.
