Desperate situation as Pinetown welfare runs out of food

Pinetown Highway Child and Family Welfare Society appeal for mainly dry and canned food.

PINETOWN Highway Child and Family Welfare Society co-ordinator, Ellen Attwell, appeals to the Highway community, schools and businesses for food as their stocks are running low again.

The food that they are appealing for is distributed to the needy in the community and Attwell said they depend on donations to keep running.

“We are appealing for dry and canned food. We also would like to convey our gratitude once again to John Wesley School who responded to our plea last year. Their donation really made a huge difference,” she said.

Attwell also asked for any company to donate a JoJo Tank for their other home in KwaDabeka.

“The home has been broken into a couple of times for copper pipes and there is currently a caretaker staying there with no water.”

Those able to assist can contact Ellen Attwell on 084 016 8913 or drop off the donations at 35 Livingstone Road in Pinetown.
