Hillcrest foundation’s shoe donation makes a difference

The Lindiwe Jobela Sibisi Foundation started the initiative to restore learners’ dignity and to boost their self-esteem.

THE donation of school shoes by Lindiwe Jobela Sibisi Foundation brought joy and happiness to children of Nkazimulo Primary School, Botha’s Hill Primary School and Empilweni Primary School.

Chairperson of the foundation based in Hillcrest, Nosipho Jobela-Sibisi, said the initiative was started to restore learners’ dignity and to boost their self-esteem.

“Shoes or any school item should not be a barrier that a child must overcome to be able to achieve positive results. Most of these learners were wearing worn-out shoes as

She said the Back To School Drive aim is to provide school shoes to children in need.

“We receive donations from people who wish to make a difference in their communities. We work closely with teachers who identify the children at their school who need assistance. By looking at our communities we realised that with the resources we have, we could actually make a difference.”

She added they are thankful for the donation from the people who supported their 2018 Back To School Campaign.

“These children are our future and our wish is to see them grow up in a healthy environment,” said Nosipho.
