FOR the third consecutive year, Grade 12 Kearsney learner, Taine Buys swam all eight events as part of Midmar’s 8 Miles fund-raiser two weekends ago.

He is close to raising the R40 000 target he set himself for the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife ‘Save the Rhino’ campaign since his first swim in 2016.

In addition to the physically testing swims which he has completed, planning the fund-raising has also taken time and effort, from finding and thanking sponsors to making posters and collection boxes, during his busy matric year.
