Mt Moriah water reservoir will shutdown for up to 15 hours

The areas affected are New Germany, Pinetown and Clermont.

TO allow for the installation of a major water connection along the GO!Durban bus route at the Otto Volek and Dineklman Road intersection in New Germany, the Mount Moriah Water Reservoir will be shutdown from 6pm on 28 February to 6am on 1 March.

Mount Moriah services the Wyebank and Berkshire Downs reservoirs.

The two water sources supply water to New Germany, Pinetown and Clermont.

During the shutdown the two reservoirs will not be topped up until the following morning.

The eThekwini Water Services (EWS) plans to have the Wyebank and Berkshire Downs reservoirs at capacity before the shutdown.

It noted there could be a possible extension to the shutdown time, pushing it to 9am on 1 March.
