MARIANNHILL police have arrested a 36-year-old man for the alleged murder of Xolisile Chonco (30) who was reported missing on 2 February.

Colonel Thembeka Mbhele, spokesperson for KZN SAPS said a Chonco’s body was found in a shallow grave near her home in the Mpola area in the early hours of Thursday morning (22 February).
She was last seen on 2 February leaving her homestead.
After her relatives alerted police a missing persons inquiry was opened for investigation at the Mariannhill station.
Mbhele added that a case of murder had now been opened.

“The 36-year-old alleged suspect will be charged for murder and will appear in the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court soon,” said Mbhele.
