Find out how Forest View Primary might be best for your child at the 1 March Open Day

For 45 years Forest View Primary School has been part of the Kloof education landscape, offering the best possible education to learners by qualified educators who passionately strive to ensure each child’s best interests are kept at heart throughout their primary school journey.

On Thursday, 1 March 2018, Forest View Primary School will have an Open Day starting at 9:00 am. Here are some reasons why you should definitely attend and get your child’s application in before applications close due to spaces being limited.

Since it opened its doors in 1973 under the care of its founder principal, Mr Philip Kemp, who watched over the 124 pupils and 6 teachers in attendance, Forest View Primary school has enjoyed 45 years of providing the best for the children who have spent time at the school.

Having grown somewhat, the school now offers classes from Grade RR to Grade 7, with an average of 25 children per class. Forest View aims to provide a happy learning environment with a healthy work ethic and a high level of self-esteem amongst learners, staff, parents and the greater upper highway community it serves. Current Principal, Mrs Shayleen Shum, has been part of the school family since 1981 when she first joined the staff as an Educator, then as Deputy Principal in 2000 and became the Principal in 2013.

The focus is on holistic child-centred education which sets out to meet the following three aims:
1.    Developing skills, concepts and attitudes
2.    Maintaining a Christian ethos, and
3.    Respecting cultural and religious diversity
In order to achieve these three goals the school strives for excellence in teaching and academic standards, guiding learners towards responsible citizenship.

English is the Language of Teaching. We encourage participation in co-curricular activities with the positive involvement and support of the parents. We protect and encourage a close partnership between staff and parents.

One of our teachers was named as a finalist in 2016’s Woolworths and My School Teacher’s Day competition where her selfless effort was acknowledged and rewarded.
