NPO needs aid to fill their pots

Enhlanhleni Isibani Sezwe has been struggling to keep their soup kitchen going.

SHORTAGE of funds is having a negative impact on a KwaDabeka NPO’s soup kitchen which benefits children and those who are ill in the area.

Enhlanhleni Isibani Sezwe, is an organisation started by Pastor Alfred Ntshangase in 2005 to assist the vulnerable people in his community.

“This year, we have not been able to keep our soup kitchen on track as we do not have enough food and are struggling to fill our gas canisters.

“There are so many people who depend on this soup kitchen and it troubles me that I can not provide food for them,” he said.

At the moment, the NPO makes sandwiches every Wednesday to keep the soup kitchen going while they appeal for donations.

Enhlanhleni Isibani Sezwe also provides home-based care services for sick people and support for their families.

“Our caregivers do home visits where they bath, cook and clean for people who are sick and give out food parcels. We also help children with their homework and we have adult classes in the afternoon,” he said.

Ntshangase said they are thankful to the Westville Catholic Church for their ongoing support and would appreciate any kind of assistance.

“It can be food or second-hand clothes and uniforms to distribute to the less fortunate. Some of the clothes are sold to raise funds for the centre,” he said.

Anyone who wishes to assist can contact Pastor Ntshangase on 082 666 0876 or 078 190 3973.
