Molweni centre receives cash injection

The headmistress, Bongekile Miya, requested for a gas stove to be bought with the cash donation, to provide a wholesome meal for the children twice a day.

CAMELOT Golf Club Ladies Section recently held its Charity Golf tournament in aid of Molweni Zimele Centre.

The annual charity day has been sponsored by Des Quinn and Sean Quinn, the managers from Waterfall Superspar, for many years, and every year they select a new beneficiary.

This year, Molweni Zimele Centre was chosen as the recipient and received R10 500.

Molweni Zimele Centre for Mentally and Physically Challenged Children is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that relies solely on donations from the public to function.

The principal, Bongekile Miya, asked for a gas stove as they provide a wholesome meal for the children twice a day. She also has plans to teach the children how to cook.

Through the generosity of the contacts of the Camelot Golf Club chairman, the Ladies Section bought a five-burner gas hob and oven which they presented to the school.

Gas Crest of Hillcrest also sponsored this project with free gas cylinders, a regulator, and gas at a generously discounted price, and delivered the gas cylinders to the school.
