DUT lectures to commence tomorrow

Despite the challenges of the ongoing staff strike, the university has registered more than 18 000 students for the 2018 academic year.

DESPITE four days of mediation by the CCMA, Durban University of Technology was disappointed to confirm that the salary negotiations with three labour Unions remain deadlocked.

As a result, the Executive Committee of Senate at DUT has decided to start lectures on Tuesday, 13 February 2018.

Despite the challenges of the ongoing staff strike, the University has registered more than 18 000 students for the 2018 academic year. These students want to get into class and commence with their studies.

DUT said it will, in consultation with its SRC, ensure that they help students to register over the course of the next few days.

In the meantime, students are still invited to register online via the DUT website (www.dut.ac.za), or in person at the Riverside campus in Pietermaritzburg or at one of the registration venues in Durban. Students who require assistance with their 2018 registration can get advice by calling 031 373 5005, alternatively email: info@dut.ac.za  during office hours.
