Investigator’s mission to solve the Roberts’ murder

Brad Nathanson Investigations' operations manager, Shane Brits, appeals for witnesses to come forward to help to clarify some of the speculative information surrounding the murder.

MORE than a month after the gruesome murder of 22-year-old Desmond Roberts, the Brad Nathanson Investigations team has taken up the case hoping to uncover the truth.

Brad Nathanson Investigations’ operations manager, Shane Brits, appeals for witnesses to come forward to help to clarify some of the speculative information surrounding the murder.

Roberts was murdered in his Malvern home on New Year’s day.

He was stabbed twice on the left and right side of his chest and his throat was slit.

According to Brits, one of the main witnesses has fled the country and since there is a lot of talk and speculation regarding this investigation, they have started from the ground up.

“The family wants answers. What began as an inquest has progressed to a murder investigation and it is my job to get to the bottom of it,” he said.

Brits said one of the things that makes this case difficult is that the autopsy report has not yet been released.

While threats sent to Roberts on Facebook about his throat being slit became a reality, Brits said there are multiple leads but no identikit yet or a specific individual for the community to look out for.

The private investigators are working hand-in-hand with Malvern SAPS.
