Principal encourages learners to be their best

Star College Durban principal, Osman Karaayvaz, encouraged all learners to be the best they can be.

DAY one at Star College Durban brought along nerves, excitement and by the end of the day, new friendships and for some the call to sleep after an extremely hot summer’s day.

The shiny shoes, new backpacks and hair ribbons symbolised the beginning of a new year, a new phase and a new door being opened.

From the bravest Grade RR’s to anxious matrics that know what lies ahead, the principal Osman Karaayvaz said he believes in each and every one of them.

“Each of you hold the passion and drive within you to be the best that you can be. This is all we hope to help you achieve.”

He also quoted the words of EO Wilson who said: “You are capable of more than you know. Choose a goal that seems right for you and strive to be the best, however hard the path. Aim high. Behave honorably. Prepare to be alone at times, and to endure failure. Persist! The world needs all you can give.”
