Two trespassers arrested in Highway area

Two of the five arrests were made in Cowies Hill and in Escombe.

FIVE robbers were arrested by Blue Security and community members at the weekend. The men were found with stolen goods including bicycles and jewellery.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios, said two of the arrests were made in the Highway and Escombe areas and three arrests took place in Umbilo and the Durban CBD.

The latest arrest was made at about 3.30am yesterday after a trespasser entered a property in Drake Road in Cowies Hill.

“The man jumped over the front gate and our officer found a padlock for a wendy house on the property, lying on the floor, and the man inside the property. He arrested the man and handed him over to the Pinetown SAPS,” Mathios said.

Another man was arrested in a similar incident in Rownham Road in Escombe after he entered the property and forced open the door of a shed and the door of an outside toilet. He was handed over to the Malvern SAPS.
