#MatricResults2017 : Hillcrest High School celebrates 195 distinctions

The school's matric class of 2017 achieved an excellent set of results, with a pass rate of 99.47 per cent and a 80.42 per cent Bachelor pass.

HILLCREST High School congratulated its 2017 matriculants on their total of 195 distinctions.

Denise Knight, deputy principal, said the matric class of 2017 achieved an excellent set of results, with a pass rate of 99.47 per cent (compared to 2016’s 98.96 per cent) and a 80.42 per cent of Bachelor pass.

“We are proud and apart from commending the learners on the results of their hard work, we also say a heartfelt thank you to our staff and parent body for their support throughout the past year,” said Knight.

Some of the top individual performers were Muvhusi Mmbara with an incredible nine distinctions, including 94 percent for physical science and 100 per cent for history; Chanan Rouillon and Hannah Upfold – both achieved seven distinctions; Timon de Waal, Mandie Marais and Michaela Naidoo all achieved six distinctions; Ashley Fox, Ross Dinkelmann, Keagon Chavoos, Craig Dowdall, Kayla Harvey, Bruce Hollington, Katherine Mundell and Esai Reddy each achieved five distinctions.

“Our 2017 matric class have done themselves, their families and their teachers at Hillcrest High School proud. I especially want to thank our staff and parents for all their efforts to help their learners achieve. We wish all our young ladies and gentlemen the best as they pursue their future goals,” added Knight.
