Pinetown SAPS search for missing baby

Chance Dilemma Kabwiri was only three weeks when she went missing on 21 December.

PINETOWN Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit is appealing for information on the whereabouts of Chance Dilemma Kabwiri who has been missing since 21 December.

Chance was only three weeks old when she went missing.

Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Capt Bongumusa Manqele said the mother of the baby, Catheline Chiguya (30) left the child in her rented room in the Embo area near Hillcrest to buy goods at a nearby tuck shop.

“It is alleged that when she came back the child was missing,” he said.

Catheline said she heard from the children who were playing on the premises that two women went into her room and took the child.

“I was only out for a short while and I did not think anyone would steal my child.

“I am very heartbroken as I do not know where my child is, its been almost two weeks now, I am pleading with anyone who might have information to contact the police,” she said.

Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the missing child to contact the investigating officer, Detective W/O Sithembiso Xulu on 0795000297 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
