Pinetown’s Robyn ensures each dog has its day

The Kloof and Highway SPCA recently received a hearty R5 000 donation of dog and cat food for the festive season.

AS most people’s lives are filled with Christmas celebrations and excitement at this time of the year, it is also a very tough time of year for the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

The number of unwanted animals and strays increases drastically during the festive season.

A plea for food was placed on social media by the non-profit organisation and a supporter, Robyn Mackay, who works abroad, decided to donate tinned dog food.

Robyn’s family lives in Cowies Hill, Pinetown near Main SPAR at Sandy Centre and her mom, Noelene, approached Grant Nicholls, the owner and managing director of the Main Group of SPARS, to assist with her request.

“Robyn purchased R5 000 worth of tinned dog food and the truckload of pet food was delivered to the local NPO,” said the Main Group of SPARS’ Tersia Taskes.
