Robbers ransack Kloof Junior’s computer room

The local school was stripped of a grand total of 38 desktop PCs and four laptops.

JUST before 1am today (1 December), a gang of robbers broke into the computer room at Kloof Junior Primary School and stole 38 desktop PCs and four laptops.

According to the school, the men pulled on the light outside the computer room to ascertain its power source.

The robbers removed the tiles from the roof of the building and trailed the power cable to its source. The men disconnected the beams and alarm system.

They smashed through the security gate and door and had full access to the computer room.

“Luckily we are finished with assessments for the year but a lot of year-end admin was completed on these desktops,” said the school’s Bev Abbott.

“The bottom line is that no one was hurt and the goods are replaceable.”

Ian Colls of Compusafe urged schools to be vigilant and remove their towers before closing for the school holiday.

The local SAPS, Blue Security and the Department of Education Pinetown District were also in attendance.
