After extensive investigation, it was established that the accused had previous convictions and was also linked to two more cases in Westville.

WARRANT officer, Dumisani Sithole from Westville Detectives was commended for securing a 20-year conviction of a carjacker.

Capt Elizabeth Squires, spokesperson for Westville SAPS, said a woman was held up at gunpoint in her white Audi A3 outside Milton Road in Westville in August last year. She was forced to the backseat of the car. A while later she was told to get out at Spagetti Junction where the thugs drove off.

After the thugs alighted the vehicle, the members gave chase, one person managed to get away while the other one was found hiding under a Quantum.
